Primec was born in Turin in 1979 as Philips agency

In 1984 Philips introduced in the Italian market the microwave identification system PREMID produced in Sweden.
 
In 1986 Primec installed PREMID Fiat realising the following factories;
 
-Fiat Termini Imerese (Final assembling);
-Fiat Cassino ( Body Shop – Final Assembling);
-Sevel -Van – ( Paint shop );
-Alfa Pomigliano (Body Shop);
-Fiat Rivalta (Body Shop – Final assembling);
-Iveco Brescia (Storehouse);
 
Total value of about 15 billion liras (USD 9 million)
In ‘90 Philips sold its factory to SAAB in Sweden and Primec became the PREMID distributor for the Italian market. SAAB then divided the products in two sectors:
 
– Saab Combitech Traffic System for Access Control and Fleet Management
 
-Saab Automation for Factory Automation

SAAB sold the Saab Automation group to Baumer ID Co. and for 2 years Primec continued to represent both Saab Traffic System and Baumer ID. Since then Baumer decided to realise Baumer ID Italia. Co. At the same time TagMaster asked Primec to distribute the product of new generation CONFIDENT in the Italian Market both for factory automation and access control.

Today Primec works using the new NEDAP technologies (proximity and microwave) and distributes them in the Italian territory.
